John Berger (1926-2017) published around 30 books solo or in collaboration with the photograph Jean Mohr (1925-2018). He also collaborated with Nella Bielski, Katya Berger Andreadakis, Selçuk Demirel, John Christie, Anne Michaels, Yves Berger and editors such as Geoff Dyer, Maria Nadotti and Tom Overton. He wrote in English and he has been translated into 49 languages.

John Berger wrote numerous articles that appeared regularly in newspapers around the world, such as : The Guardian, The New Statesman, Harper’s, Art Review, The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Brick, Le Monde Diplomatique, El País, La Jornada, Clarin, Corriere Della Serra, Internazionale, Die Neue Rundschau, Aftonbladet… Most of his articles have then been published in his books of essays.

JOHN BERGER

Storyteller, essayist, novelist, screenwriter, playwright, painter and critic, John Berger (1926-2017) is one of the most internationally influential writers of the last fifty years. Solo or in collaboration with Jean Mohr for example, he published more than 30 titles, the Booker Prize winning novel G and the best-seller Ways of Seeing. He has also published articles in the most important newspapers around the world.

He used to work and live in Quincy, a small French peasant community, the setting for his trilogy Into their Labours.

Painters, cineasts, writers, dancers, curators have been and are still inspired by his work, this website is a window on these TODAY creations.
