From 22nd of October to 8th of November in Lausanne, Théâtre Vidy and partners propose a wide range of events around the Simon McBurney solo show Questions for John, a Complicité production.

Actor and director, Simon McBurney was a close friend of John Berger. He founded the renowned maverick theatre company Complicité, with which they created in 1995 The Three Lives of Lucie Cabrol adapted from John Berger’s short story present in the trilogy Into Their Labours. Simon McBurney and John Berger then collaborated on Vertical Line (1999), Mnemonic (2001) and Vanishing Point (2005), in addition to regularly exchanging about their projects.

After Edinburgh International Festival (EIF), Simon McBurney comes back on stage with this solo Questions for John. It holds the echoes of that relationship while asking the most urgent questions about how, or if, we can respond to the events of our time.

What has become of the bonds that unite us?
Why do we destroy what we love?
And what can art do today?
